Hush 2-End the silence: The Movie

Hush 2 - End the silence, the follow up the previously released Hush has finally arrived! In Hush the main character Mikisha (Sophia Thomas) is a 15 year old Christian girl who is a youth leader in her church & very involved in church ministry. However, Troy (Andrew Thornhill) her boyfriend is not. When Mikisha discovers she’s pregnant and starts to think about the ridicule and shame she’ll face if she decides to keep her baby, she then considers abortion - her only viable option. Mikisha decides to use a clothes hanger and as they say the rest is history.

Hush 2 - End the silence is the follow up to Hush, and based on the 1 minute trailer, it seems like the movie is back, in a bigger and better way. Hush 2 deals with sexual abuse of children, violence in schools and parenting issues; and it seems like this movie is packed with even more suspense and drama. Now Mikisha’s father reappears, Mikisha is about to be expelled from school and Troy seems to be walking the thin line between life and death.

Hush 2 will be premiered in Jamaica on Tuesday, February 23rd, at 7pm at The Palace Amusement Cinemas, Liguanea and then officially released for public viewing in all the Palace Amusement Cinemas in Jamaica from February 24th, 2010 (See press for details).

Hush 2, is written, directed and produced by Marcia Weekes, a Jamaican living in Barbados and has be written for young people. It has been seen by high schools, teenagers, and over 20, 000 persons in the general public in Barbados. It has been in the Barbadian cinema for 8 straight weeks where many parents, social agency workers and government officials filed into the theater each night to see this very riveting Caribbean movie depicting the reality of many of our Caribbean children.

Plan to see Hush 2, and invite your friends and family. This is a movie for change and it appears to be very exciting while embodying a sobering message.

The Prodigal Son and FiwiVoice.com

Prod111.jpg

The last couple months have seen some very tense and outrageous controversies on FiwiVoice.com, as a result of articles critiquing the actions of Reggae Gospel sensation Prodigal Son. Surprising to us, in those controversies there were some who had the impression that we at www.FiwiVoice.com must have some particular bone of contention with the minister.

What Next Will We Do In the Name of “Relevance”

So the Anglican church in Jamaica has decided to include the lyrics of Bob Marley’s One Love and Peter Tosh’s Creation (His take on Psalm 27) in their church hymnals.
FiwiVoice.com has an opinion on this and we’ve taken time to formulate it, but we believed we would be hypocrites if we didn’t say what we [...]
