Ryan Berry
The world has been waiting for a long time for something special and soon they will know what it is. When RYAN BERRY completes his debut album millions of hearts will be blessed by the purposeful, soul stirring message which will come from a young man who understands his mission.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica’s thriving capital, RYAN has seen the best of times, and the worst of times. It is this mixture of experiences that has led him to pen his first original single “Why”. This song is RYAN’s response to the crime and violence that has come to characterize Kingston. He wants his Music to challenge young lives, especially young men to look to God and turn from a path of death to life. Although RYAN was raised in the church, and has been singing on the choir and with his young siblings as the Young Thrillers, since age eight, he has been very aware that his life is a Testimony of God’s Divine Plan. Where many young men have taken the path of destruction, he has seen how God has been leading him on the path of life.
He has been a member of the junior choir of McDonald Lane New Testament Church of God, a youth choir leader, praise and worship leader and now assistant musical director. He has also ministered with groups in Jamaica such as, Crowned Singers, Purpose, 1998 Jamaica Cultural Development Commission top ten Gospel Festival finalist Total Praise, and Wayne “Jai” Buchanan. As his love for Music ministry has grown, so has his faith. And he decided to follow God’s leading into the professional Music arena where God has opened doors for him to minister as back up singer with Stellar award winner Tyrone “Papa San” Thompson. With Papa San, he has ministered in the U.S.A., Canada, Holland, Kenya, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Vincent, Antigua, Bermuda, Aruba , and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Ryan has also been exposed to and shared stages with international artistes such as Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Tye Tribett, Mary Mary, Stichie, Tonex, T-Bone, Ramiyah, Deitrick Haddon, Rachel Lampa, Israel Haughton, Alvin Slaughter, Chevelle Franklin, Don Moen, Out of Eden, Toby Mac, Ayiesha Woods, Limit X, Sauti. He has also shared stage and worked on projects with Papa San, Carlene Davis, Ziggy Soul, Toby Mac, T.N.J., and Prodigal Son a.k.a. Bless, Maurice Gregory, singing sensation Shaze and Marvia Providence.
His influences are Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ, Commission, Anointed, Change, Michael W. Smith, Donnie McClurkin, Papa San, Israel Haughton and New Breed , Kirk Franklin just to name a few. Ryan has also released “Thou Oh Lord” which is a Byron Cage cover. He holds firmly to the word which says, “To whom much is given much is required,” and is committed to honoring the Lord and his Christian heritage. Most of all, RYAN wants to see the lives of young men transformed for the Glory of God.
