Kevin Downswell
It is with pleasure that we introduce to you, Gospel Evangelist Kevin Downswell. A Jamaican born Gospel Recording Artist, who actually discovered that he could sing at age 13 - yes, age 13. As a matter of fact, Kevin did more DJ, Skating,rapping and dancing than anything else, but surprisingly no singing .Kevin won the National JCDC Gospel Festival in 2003. This was a major boost which launched his ministry into the spotlight.
He was appointed to the office of an evangelist the same year that he graduated with honors from the University of the West Indies (2005) . During this time he was commissioned by the Lord to become a full-time minister, a decision that was preceded by much prayer, fasting and careful obedience since Kevin’s plan was to become a medical doctor; but obviously God had another plan.
He became co-writer with Dj Nicholas and Jermaine Edwards for the hit song “Nah Bow”, which was awarded the Marlin Awards for Reggae Recording of the year - 2006. He also worked with Tennyson Walters of OFMB, recording two songs for the project REGGAE FOR CHRIST, which also created history by being the first Gospel album to ever top the New York and South Florida charts simultaneously. “Change is Coming”, “Still Stand” , “Joy” and “Nothing Just Happens” are some of the songs recorded and released for his upcoming debut album. These songs are doing very well both locally and regionally. Kevin has ministered in several conferences and concerts all around the island of Jamaica and overseas, sharing the stage with the likes of Micah Stampley, Michael W. Smith, Papa San, Dj Nicholas and Chevelle Franklyn among others. The Perpetual Praise Team is Kevin’s second family and this team is one of Jamaica’s premier praise and worship teams. He he also serves in his home church - Faith Mission Assembly of God, located in Kingston, Jamaica.
Kevin Downswell is a worshipper; a lover of God. One who hungers after God, he lives to know Christ and to make Him known. This man of God has dedicated his life to usher people to a special place in God’s presence, and there discover- the height, width, length and depth of God’s love. The anointing on Kevin’s life is immense, limitless and inspires millions. He is currently working with Spurr Music Empire – a Jamaican artiste management and Music production organization – to complete his album to be released on May 24, 2008. This promises to be awesome and definitely anointed. Kevin Downswell is a dynamic worshipper and minister of the Gospel whose motto remains “…that Christ may increase and I decrease” John 3:30. The life of this man of God expresses nothing but the power of God. To God be all the glory.
