I got saved at eight, considered myself holy and high too, as I was clean and pure and holy. Little did I learn ‘let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall’. God allowed me to see this- that I am only saved by grace.

My greatest trial to this day occurred between ages 16-18. It started out with a thud as God had become really close to me and He started to alter my life. He asked me to give up a guy I had loved; one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. It was a horrible struggle but I had to do it and the heartbreak that came was beyond overwhelming.

Searching

I can clearly remember times when I wanted to literally take my heart out for the pain to end. I cried out to God but He felt so far away at times I searched for new ways to be ‘healed’. In my final year of sixth form, still suffering with pain, I found out a good friend of mine was attracted to me. This guy was a mighty man of God: healed, spoke in tongues, you name it; so I thought my heart could settle there. Repeatedly God told me not to, and I told Him it was ok, and that He seemed like a good enough guy. Unlike my previous relationships my guard went down with him, from the pain I was suffering and from the fact that I thought He was right with God. This was a grave mistake.

Too good too long……

To my surprise the end of sixth form and beginning of UWI, Mona was more hell than I could dream. Other than being depressed and being with someone God did not want me to, my new company at UWI undermined my already weakened conviction about sin. They told me I was too good too long and should enjoy life. I did, and entered the world of lying to my parents, skipping classes, being sexually immoral, deceitful and manipulative. This continued until God started speaking to my heart to come out of sin.

Grace

I can clearly remember the night on my bed when I flipped open my Word For Today, and saw the message for the day, ‘Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more’. I cried and cried told him I couldn’t and went back in sin the next day. That day I came so close to losing my virginity; I now know the Lord had grace working overtime. After that I decided to rely on grace and walk away.

With all this my church was told and I got caught; was suspended for a year, and had to give a public apology for my sinful actions. Yea….it was the most painful part of my entire life but I survived only by God’s grace.

Those two years in my life has proven that God is always there, will always love you, and will help you through no matter how deep in sin you end up. I now realize it is by grace I am pure and remain pure. It has also taught me that my pain and failures should be my stepping stones, by grace, versus things that make me fall.

So should you!

Hey G, im soo glad that u put ur Testimony up. I’m so happy that ppl can see from your life that purity is by the grace of God working in our lives that we should not dare boast about ourselves or what we have achieved. Through the pain, i know that you are able to now be compassionate to those who go through similar experiences and God has given you a heart that wants to see people healed of their situations.

    Hey G!
Keep on following after God my friend.
He has a plan and a man for you. (that’s not a joke)
I am happy that you followed the voice of the Lord and started your journey towards purity and growth. Never forget that God is a rewarder and he will grant you the desires of your heart if you do not give up on him.
Keep the faith my sis and remember, you always have the support of the believers.

Hey Georgia I must say that your Testimony has been really inspiring. It is a Testimony that many of us need to hear and understand. I pray that God will continue to transform your life for His glory and fame. Even as you study in bible college may He use you as an instrument of change. I only wish you had shared that Testimony in UCCF, but nothing happens before its time. I am blessed…

I am so happy you put up your Testimony, on reading those nasty comments on your article i couldnt help but think how dare ppl try to taint your name like that and they dont even know you. Now they can have a glimpse of who you are… a woman whose heart is after God and his purposes.

Its good to know that your so comfortable with revealing your painful past..it does indicate that the enemy has no hold over you and what was in the darkness is now in the light..therefore G, you got the victory in Jesus’ name. In all you do I pray to the Lord that you have wisdom in representing the Lord. And always live a life of repentance, because we do things that are wrong and are at time totally unaware of it..this will keep you on your toes with your relationship with the Lord. I know stuff didn’t work out with the guy u originally planned to be with and i’m sure (and i know u r 2) that God knows best for us all.
The Lord has great plans 4 u G…just stay before His presence, pray, fast, read His word and most important in all the praise & worship u give..take the time out to listen to the Lord…

    He’s got alot to say….

Keep pressing 4 the mark of the higher callin!!!

    Love.

It is through our Testimony that we overcome the adversary. Continue to testify Georgia cuz there are many more young ladies who need to hear the power of God’s grace. They need to know that His strength is perfect in all areas of our lives. Keep doing what you are doing.
