Dj Nicholas
There’s much going on about Gospel’s new ministers and Reggae Music’s new artiste. Whether its right or wrong, effective or trivial or just a sham to make some money are all within the debate, but whatever your view artistes like Dj Nicholas, Ryan ‘Prodigy’ Mark, Jason Mighty and Bless, are creating quite a buzz locally and overseas.
FiwiVoice definitely appreciates that refreshing message that they bring that our society needs, which most secular artiste fall short doing.
Dj Nicholas is one of Reggae Gospels most powerful DJs. Born Nicholas Eccleston, this 24 year old, newly wed, was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica, and is a past student of Calabar High. Nicholas who has an Album coming out at the end of November, claims he is in ‘full time ministry’ This is his Voice, on Gospel Reggae, Crime, Violence and Poverty in our society.
FV: How Long Been Saved?
N: Five years, been saved since early 2000
FV: When you started as a Gospel DJ?
N: About a year after that.
FV: First ever recorded song?
N: Barrier, and Get Back Up Again, but that one wasn’t released.
FV: Your biggest hit so far?
N: Mi nuh know, the biggest hit I’ve been in is not mine, a song wid me an a young lady named Kerron Ennis called “Daddy-O”, I think that’s the most known song, but people like songs like “Pop Off the Word”, “God Man”, mi nuh know a you woulda haffi tell me dat. But I have some new songs coming out, I’m working on a project- I’m believing God for a Album launch in late November so after this CD come out then I’ll be better able to say wha the people favourite.

FV: Would you collaborate with an unsaved or worldly artiste to promote the Gospel?
N: It depends on the motive, it depends and if is a song giving glory to God.
FV: What about doing songs on secular beats, some artise say they wouldn’t, what about you?
N: Well if it’s a rhythm that has already been tainted with slackness or already have some connotations that as you listen the rhythm you hear the slackness pon it, I’d avoid that, but if is a conscious rhythm where there’s no slackness on it and I’ll be recorded as early as the other artistes them, good, but if is a case where them record and gone out already mi nuh think so.
FV: Focusing more on dancehall or reggae Gospel- what would you prefer it called, dancehall or reggae Gospel?
N: Hardcore Gospel, or reggae Gospel- street Gospel.
FV: Some people say this is a New Era in Gospel- would you agree?
N: Yes

Dj Nicholas, this man of God is more than an inspiration. He has inspiration me personally to apply certain attributes to my christian life, one most important of which is to know the word of God and be able to apply it to my life in any situation, whether in warfare, dipression, or joy. I personally want to say, and if Minister Eccleston does read this, God bless you man of God, keep on being, “On the Shout”, for the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and the Conguering Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. God Bless you, and may the annointing of the Lord, continue to fall upon you like manor from heaven, Bless!!

Ministry Nicholas! This is a true man of God; you are more than an inspiration to most of us young Christians. Keep on doing your thing for God, “On the Shout”, for He is the King of Kings Lord of Lords. May the Lord keep on showering His anointing on you as you keep on blessing our souls, and that He may also give your wife the strength to stand by you through thick and thin. God Bless you always.
